KŌPŪ COLLECTION
Acknowledgement of Country
Kōpū Collection acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians. We honour their enduring connection to lands, waters and skies, and we respect the richness of their cultures, histories and diversity.
We pay our respects to the Jagera and Turrbal peoples, the Traditional Custodians of Meanjin (Brisbane), where we live and work. We acknowledge their Elders past, present and emerging.

“Tāmaki above, Te Rerenga Wairua below. The male tide, the female tide. The billowy tides of Tāwhaki, ebb and flow with the standing tides of Kupe. Behold! The great tides of Tai Tokerau.”

Our Story
Kia ora, I’m a māmā of 2 beautiful tamāhine and bonus māmā of 2. I have lived in Meanjin (Brisbane, Australia) for 15 years. My pēpi were born here and they are the heart behind Kōpū Collection.
During both of my hapūtanga, I loved sourcing taonga for my pēpi from Māori pakihi. Like many of us living away from Aotearoa, I felt that extra pull during hapūtanga to connect back to whānau and whenua. Once our pēpi arrive, we often face the challenge of finding resources to help them grow up with te reo and tikanga Māori.
That’s why I created the Pēpehā Pukapuka, a fun, interactive way for pēpi and tamariki to learn, understand, and write their own pepeha.
From there, the ideas kept flowing. I wanted to offer another option for more culturally grounded products, so the range grew. I also wanted these taonga to be affordable and accessible for our whānau across the ditch. Shipping costs, timeframes and accessibility shouldn’t be the reason our pēpi miss out on the comforts and connections of home.
Our Name
Kōpū means the womb. The place that nourishes and sustains our pēpi during hapūtanga. We come from the womb of the wahine, and we return to it in death, to Papatūānuku.
Our Kaupapa
At Kōpū Collection, we are proud to be a Māori-owned business based in Australia, dedicated to supporting whānau with quality baby products, personally designed with aroha and intention.
Our vision is simple: to make it easier for Māori families in Australia to access meaningful, culturally grounded products for their pēpi. We know the struggles of high shipping costs and limited access to items that feel like home, so our kaupapa goes beyond baby essentials. It’s about identity, connection, and nurturing our culture across the ditch.
Every item is thoughtfully designed with the help of tōku hoa rangatira nō Te Arawa, Tuwharetoa, whose creativity and support are woven into the heart of our mahi. By choosing Kōpū Collection, you’re not only providing for your pēpi, you’re uplifting Māori enterprise and helping us strengthen our culture abroad.
